A quick superficial fix that covers symptoms without addressing the deeper cause of the problem. In engineering slang, a bandaid fix is sometimes necessary during incidents but risky when it silently becomes the permanent solution.
In plain English: A quick temporary fix that does not solve the underlying problem.
Example: "The null check was a bandaid fix, not a real solution, because the service was still generating invalid state two layers earlier."
