1. A surprisingly valuable piece of code, documentation, or historical knowledge discovered while digging through a system. In engineering slang, code treasure is the reward that occasionally justifies deep repository archaeology.

   In plain English: A valuable technical discovery hidden in an old or messy system.

   Example: "In the middle of cleaning deprecated jobs they found code treasure: an old well-tested parser that solved the exact edge case the new pipeline was struggling with."
