Internet Exposure
Noun · Security & Infosec
Definitions
The condition of a system, service, asset, or interface being reachable from the public internet. Internet exposure is not automatically a flaw, but exposed assets require stronger hardening, monitoring, and patch discipline because attackers can reach them directly.
In plain English: Being reachable from the public internet.
Example: "The forgotten admin console was a serious internet exposure because it sat on the public IP without MFA."
