  1. The total potential dollar value of opportunities currently in the sales pipeline, sometimes weighted by stage probability and sometimes not. It is a directional input to forecasting, not a substitute for bookings.

    In plain English: The total potential revenue represented by current sales opportunities.

    Example: "Pipeline value rose after the event, but most of the new opportunities were still early-stage."
