Pipeline Coverage

Noun · Startup & VC

Definitions

  1. The ratio between current pipeline value and future quota or revenue targets, used to judge whether enough opportunity volume exists to support the plan. Coverage is only useful when pipeline stages actually map to reality.

In plain English: A measure of whether there is enough sales pipeline to support future targets.

Example: "Pipeline coverage looked fine on paper, but too much of it sat in vague late-stage deals."
