Network Telemetry

Definitions

1. Operational and security data collected from networks, such as flow records, packet data, DNS logs, connection metadata, and device events. Network telemetry gives defenders broad visibility into communication patterns even when full payload inspection is unavailable.

   In plain English: Data collected from network activity to help monitor and analyze it.

   Example: "The SOC used network telemetry to spot the unusual encrypted outbound connections from a host that normally talked only to internal services."
