IP Block

Definitions

1. A range of IP addresses grouped by prefix or allocation boundary, often treated as a unit in routing, allowlists, or blocklists. Security teams use IP blocks when applying controls broadly to a network segment instead of to a single address.

   In plain English: A grouped range of IP addresses handled together.

   Example: "The abuse campaign shifted across the same provider IP block, so blocking one address at a time was ineffective."
