1. A principle that the people who cause a problem should help resolve it. In engineering slang, this creates stronger feedback loops between shipping decisions and operational consequences.

   In plain English: If your change causes the problem, you are responsible for helping fix it.

   Example: "The team lived by you break it you fix it, which made release reviews much more thoughtful than when incidents were somebody else's burden."
