Cut and Run

Definitions

1. To make a change, take the immediate gain, and leave before dealing with consequences or cleanup. In engineering slang, cut and run is the social version of technical debt creation.

   In plain English: To make a quick change or take action and then leave before handling the fallout.

   Example: "The contractor cut and ran after landing the migration helper, leaving no docs, no owner, and one brittle shell script at the center of the new workflow."
