Hit and Run

Definitions

1. A change or interaction that causes damage and then leaves before accountability or repair can happen. In engineering slang, hit-and-run behavior is common in messy shared systems with weak ownership norms.

   In plain English: A damaging change followed by disappearance before dealing with consequences.

   Example: "The branch rename was a hit and run, breaking downstream automations and leaving the rest of the org to discover the fallout on Monday morning."
