Commit and Run

Definitions

1. A jokingly critical phrase for committing code quickly and disappearing before review, follow-up, or accountability catches up. In engineering slang, commit and run implies the author is leaving others to deal with the consequences.

   In plain English: Committing code and then disappearing before dealing with the results.

   Example: "Friday evening was the worst possible time for a commit and run, but someone still merged the risky config change and went offline for the weekend."
