Remediation Priority

Noun · Security & Infosec

Definitions

  1. The relative urgency assigned to fixing a vulnerability, weakness, or control gap based on factors such as exploitability, asset value, exposure, and business impact. Remediation priority is more useful than raw severity alone because two equally severe issues may pose very different real-world risk.

In plain English: The urgency level assigned to fixing a security issue.

Example: "The internet-facing SSO flaw got the highest remediation priority even though another issue had a similar CVSS score."
