Product-Led Growth
Noun · Startup & VC · Origin: 2016
Definitions
A business strategy where the product itself is the primary driver of customer acquisition, conversion, and expansion. Users try the product for free, love it, and pay — as opposed to sales-led growth where someone cold-calls you. Slack, Dropbox, and Notion are canonical examples.
In plain English: Growing a business by making the product so good that users sign up and spread the word on their own, instead of needing a big sales team.
