1. The compute, storage, networking, identity, and platform services that form the operational foundation of a system running in the cloud. Cloud infrastructure includes both the resources directly provisioned by a team and the managed services they depend on for deployment and runtime behavior.

   In plain English: The foundational cloud resources and services a system runs on.

   Example: "The team rebuilt its cloud infrastructure with separate networks and accounts so staging mistakes could not spill into production again."
