1. The design of how an application or platform uses cloud services, including compute models, networking, storage, identity, scaling, and operational boundaries. Cloud architecture choices affect cost, reliability, deployment speed, and how much undifferentiated infrastructure work a team must own itself.

   In plain English: The overall design of how a system uses cloud infrastructure and services.

   Example: "Their new cloud architecture moved image processing to event-driven workers so bursty uploads no longer dictated the size of the always-on API fleet."
