Process Security

Noun · Security & Infosec

Definitions

  1. The protection built into business and technical processes so they cannot be abused, bypassed, or manipulated to create security failures. Process security includes approvals, separation of duties, safe defaults, auditability, and controls that make risky actions harder to perform invisibly.

In plain English: Making sure workflows and procedures themselves are secure and hard to abuse.

Example: "The incident was not caused by a software bug but by weak process security around emergency vendor access approvals."
