Definitions

1. Security controls applied to switch ports or similar connection points to restrict which devices can connect and how they may behave. Port security commonly includes MAC limits, sticky addresses, shutdown on violation, and protections against unauthorized physical network access.

   In plain English: Security controls that restrict what can connect to a network port.

   Example: "Port security disabled the conference-room jack after an unknown device appeared with multiple spoofed MAC addresses."
