1. The configuration associated with a model deployment or usage pattern, including model version, decoding settings, context limits, adapters, and operational options. Model config changes can alter behavior materially even when the model family remains the same.

   In plain English: The settings that define how a model is configured and used.

   Example: "The regression came from a silent model config change that enabled a longer context window but also increased latency beyond the product target."
