1. A threat actor, malware family, or campaign with broad international reach rather than one limited to a local target set or region. The term is often used when discussing mass exploitation, globally distributed botnets, or adversaries targeting organizations across many countries.

   In plain English: A security threat that affects organizations across many countries or regions.

   Example: "The worm became a global threat once it started hitting healthcare, telecom, and government networks on multiple continents."
