DHCP Starvation

Definitions

1. An attack that exhausts the available IP leases on a DHCP server by flooding it with fake client requests, often using many spoofed MAC addresses. Once the pool is depleted, legitimate devices cannot obtain network configuration normally.

   In plain English: Flooding a DHCP server so real devices cannot get IP addresses.

   Example: "The lab outage turned out to be DHCP starvation triggered from a single misbehaving switch port."
