1. A small code task or problem that grows quickly as it rolls into more dependencies, edge cases, and follow-up work. In engineering slang, code snowballs are the reason 'small fixes' keep eating full days.

   In plain English: A small code issue that quickly grows into a much bigger one.

   Example: "The config rename became a code snowball once they discovered generated clients, dashboards, and audit rules all depended on the old field name."
