Code Rescue

Definitions

1. A focused effort to save a failing, abandoned, or dangerously unstable system before it causes more damage. In engineering slang, code rescue is what happens when a rewrite is too slow and ignoring the problem is no longer possible.

   In plain English: An effort to save broken or failing code before it gets worse.

   Example: "The team ran a code rescue on the invoicing service, stabilizing tests and rollback behavior before attempting any deeper architectural cleanup."
