1. A developer who drifts toward impressive abstraction and theoretical system design instead of grounded delivery. In engineering slang, code astronaut is a cousin of architecture astronaut, with the same warning that elegance can float away from real constraints.

   Example: "The prototype stalled because the lead went full code astronaut and kept redesigning extension points no user had actually asked for."
