Definitions

1. A copyleft free software license, commonly referring to the GNU Affero General Public License, that extends source-sharing obligations to software provided over a network as a service. It is often discussed in relation to SaaS loopholes and hosted software business models.

   In plain English: A strong open source license that also applies when software is run as an online service.

   Example: "They chose the Affero GPL specifically to require source disclosure even for hosted modifications."
