Definitions

1. A published notice about a security issue, vulnerability, risk, or recommended action, often issued by a vendor, CERT, or research group. Advisories help defenders prioritize awareness and remediation.

   In plain English: A formal notice warning about a security issue and what to do about it.

   Example: "The vendor's advisory confirmed the flaw was exploitable before a patch was available."
