Sprint

Noun · Development · Origin: 1995

Definitions

  1. A fixed time period (typically 1-4 weeks) in Scrum during which a team commits to completing a set of work items. The irony of calling it a 'sprint' when it repeats indefinitely has not been lost on developers.

In plain English: A fixed period (usually one to four weeks) where a development team commits to finishing a specific set of tasks. When one sprint ends, the next one starts immediately.
