Skill Issue

Noun · Slang & Abbreviations

Definitions

  1. A dismissive response implying that a problem is caused by the user's lack of ability rather than a legitimate bug or design flaw. Originally from gaming culture, now used (often sarcastically) in programming when someone struggles with a tool or framework.

In plain English: A sarcastic way of saying someone's problem is caused by their own inexperience, not a real bug.

Example: "I can't figure out Kubernetes networking." "Skill issue." (Later discovered it was a genuine CNI plugin bug.)
