  1. The gradual, often uncontrolled expansion of a project's requirements beyond its original scope. It starts with 'can we also add...' and ends with the project taking three times as long and costing five times as much.

    In plain English: When a project keeps getting bigger because people keep adding new requirements — 'just one more feature' until the project is completely different from what was originally planned.

    Example: "The client wanted a landing page. After scope creep, we're building a social network with AI-powered recommendations."
