Rogue Device

Definitions

1. A device present on a network or in an environment without approval, proper inventory, or expected configuration. Rogue devices matter because they can create blind spots, bypass controls, or provide footholds for attackers and insiders.

   In plain English: An unauthorized device connected to a system or network.

   Example: "The NAC platform quarantined the rogue device as soon as it appeared on the restricted subnet with no matching asset record."
