Revocation

Definitions

1. The invalidation of a credential, token, certificate, or access right before its normal expiration because it is no longer trusted or should no longer be usable. Revocation is important in incident response because simply waiting for expiry can leave stolen or unsafe credentials active for too long.

   In plain English: Canceling a credential or access right before it naturally expires.

   Example: "The team triggered certificate revocation after the signing key was exposed in a debug archive."
