Quota Exhaustion

Definitions

1. The consumption of a system's allowed limit for requests, storage, API calls, or another bounded resource so legitimate operations are blocked or degraded. Quota exhaustion can happen accidentally, but attackers also trigger it deliberately to cause denial of service or disrupt defensive workflows.

   In plain English: Using up a limited resource allowance so normal work cannot continue.

   Example: "The attacker caused quota exhaustion in the mail API, preventing the ticketing system from pulling security alerts during the incident."
