Pre-Product

Adjective · Startup & VC

Definitions

  1. Describing a company that has not yet built a full product, usually because it is still validating customer needs, assembling a team, or prototyping. Pre-product startups often live mostly in problem definition and founder learning.

In plain English: At a stage before the company has a real product built.

Example: "They were still pre-product and spending most of their time on customer discovery."
