A metric intended to summarize how well an organization or device follows baseline security practices such as patching, MFA, endpoint protection, and configuration standards. Hygiene scores are useful for prioritization, but they are only as good as the underlying measurements and weighting.
In plain English: A score showing how well basic security practices are being followed.
Example: "The asset had a poor hygiene score because it was missing critical patches and the endpoint agent had been offline for weeks."
