1. A system stitched together from mismatched parts, hacks, and reused fragments that somehow still moves. In engineering slang, code Frankenstein is both an insult and a backhanded compliment to code that should not work but does.

   In plain English: A system awkwardly stitched together from mismatched code parts.

   Example: "The reporting pipeline was a code Frankenstein of shell scripts, vendor exports, and one Python file that held the whole creature together."
