Describing content that appears only after a user scrolls down the page. In web and media culture the term is used when discussing how much important information can safely live out of the initial view.
In plain English: Located lower on the page so you need to scroll to see it.
Example: "The design review questioned whether pricing details belonged below the fold or whether that forced too much guessing before users could compare plans."
