ARP Spoofing

Definitions

1. The act of sending forged ARP messages on a local network to impersonate another device's IP-to-MAC mapping. ARP spoofing is often used to perform man-in-the-middle attacks or disrupt communication.

   In plain English: Sending fake local-network address messages to impersonate another device.

   Example: "The attacker used ARP spoofing to position itself between the user and the gateway."
