ARP Cache Poisoning

Definitions

1. A local-network attack in which false ARP messages corrupt a device's ARP cache so traffic is sent to the attacker instead of the legitimate host. It is a classic way to enable interception or disruption on flat networks.

   In plain English: Tricking a device into sending local network traffic to the wrong machine.

   Example: "The lab demo used ARP cache poisoning to redirect a workstation's traffic through the attack box."
