Zombie Mode

Definitions

1. A state of depleted automatic functioning where someone is still working but with reduced awareness, creativity, and judgment. In engineering slang, zombie mode is common after long incidents and dangerous if treated as normal productivity.

   In plain English: A state where someone keeps going while exhausted and mostly on autopilot.

   Example: "By hour twelve of the outage, half the bridge was in zombie mode and the incident commander started forcing breaks before mistakes got worse."
