A security model that assumes no user, device, or network segment should be automatically trusted, even inside the corporate perimeter. 'Never trust, always verify.' The end of 'the firewall will protect us' thinking.
In plain English: A security approach where nothing and nobody is trusted by default — every access request is verified, even if it comes from inside the company network.
