1. A reminder to stick with a method that may feel slow or frustrating in the short term because it tends to produce better outcomes. In engineering slang, the phrase can be reassuring or sarcastic depending on whether the process actually works.

   In plain English: Follow the established method even if the payoff is not immediate.

   Example: "The rollout plan felt conservative, but the SRE lead kept saying trust the process because staged exposure had saved them before."
