1. The function or people who help diagnose, explain, and resolve user-facing technical issues. In engineering slang, calling someone tech support can be descriptive, dismissive, or unfair depending on context.

   In plain English: People who help solve technical problems for others.

   Example: "Product kept treating the platform engineers like internal tech support, which hid the fact that the repeated issue really needed design changes, not more troubleshooting."
