Shadow Board

Definitions

1. An informal or parallel advisory group that provides perspective and challenge to leadership without replacing the formal board of directors. Companies sometimes use shadow boards to bring in newer voices or cross-functional insight.

   In plain English: An informal advisory group that mirrors or supplements the formal board.

   Example: "The CEO created a shadow board of younger leaders to pressure-test long-term strategy."
