Mob Review

Noun · Slang & Abbreviations

Definitions

  1. A code review performed live by a group rather than asynchronously by one or two people. In engineering slang, mob reviews are helpful for high-risk or high-context changes and wasteful if used for ordinary diffs that just need one competent reviewer.

In plain English: A live group code review done together rather than individually.

Example: "They did a mob review for the payment migration because too many teams and hidden assumptions were involved for an ordinary comment thread to surface everything quickly."
