Last Mile
Noun · Slang & Abbreviations
Definitions
The final part of getting a system or feature into real use, where the remaining issues are often small individually but still decisive collectively. In engineering slang, the last mile is where demos become operations.
In plain English: The final stretch of work needed to get something truly delivered and usable.
Example: "The feature had looked done for weeks, but the last mile still included analytics wiring, support docs, feature flags, and the migration messaging customers would actually see."
