  1. The anxiety that comes with a blank slate, when there are too many choices and no existing structure to constrain them. In engineering slang, greenfield panic is the uncomfortable side of having total freedom.

    In plain English: Anxiety caused by having too much freedom and too many choices in a new project.

    Example: "The team expected the new service to feel liberating, but greenfield panic set in as everyone realized every tooling and architecture choice now had to be justified from scratch."
