1. A developer focused primarily on user interfaces, client-side behavior, browser performance, accessibility, and the visible parts of software products. In tech culture the role is often underestimated by people who have never fought a complex UI across real browsers and users.

   In plain English: A developer who mainly works on the user-facing parts of software.

   Example: "The frontend developer caught issues with keyboard navigation and layout shift that nobody in the backend review had even thought to test."
