Definitions

1. Short for DNS over TLS, a protocol that encrypts DNS traffic inside a dedicated TLS session instead of sending queries in plaintext. Compared with DoH, DoT uses its own standard port and is often easier to identify at the network layer.

   In plain English: An encrypted way to send DNS traffic using TLS.

   Example: "The resolver supported DoT for mobile clients that wanted encrypted DNS without using HTTPS wrappers."
