1. A broad, sometimes fuzzy phrase for how satisfied, energized, and supported developers feel in their day-to-day work. In engineering culture, developer happiness is often linked to tooling quality, autonomy, clarity, and reduced pointless friction.

   In plain English: How happy and supported developers feel in their work.

   Example: "They measured developer happiness loosely through surveys and retention, but the real improvements came from fixing slow CI, noisy alerts, and unclear ownership."
