Deep Web
Noun · Security & Infosec
Definitions
The portion of web content that is not indexed by standard search engines, such as private portals, dynamic pages, internal apps, and paywalled resources. It is not the same thing as the dark net, although the two are often confused in popular discussion.
In plain English: Web content that exists online but is not visible through normal search engines.
Example: "Most of the exposed material was on the deep web behind a misconfigured customer portal, not on hidden services."
