1. The careful selection, cleaning, labeling, and organization of data so it is suitable for training, evaluation, or retrieval. Data curation is often one of the most important determinants of model quality.

   In plain English: Preparing and organizing data carefully for AI use.

   Example: "The fine-tune improved only after better data curation removed duplicated examples and mislabeled edge cases."
